GPS Speedo Sensor Instructions
Smiths GPS Speed sensor which can be used with all Smiths electronic speedos, and any other speedometer device that accepts a pulsed input.
The main unit of this sensor kit measures 65 x 44 x 16mm and features LED's which indicate that the GPS sensor is working correctly.
To maintain open sky hot start capability, this unit requires a permanent +12/24V (battery) supply. When the ignition is switched off, the unit enters a low-current mode but maintains the GPS data required for a 'fix' for a period of up to 3 hours.
The onboard multi-colour LED will flash Orange three times when the unit is first powered from the permanent supply. The LED will then indicate the state of the interface as follows:-
Red LED on = No GPS lock.
Green LED on solidly = GPS lock.
Green LED Flashing = GPS lock and speed greater than zero.
