As a result of a recent amendment to VAT rules, Merlin are now selling both Bell KC3-CMR & Arai CK-6 Junior Kart Helmets – VAT free

The VAT free ruling only applies to helmets approved to Snell-FIA CMH 2007 for use by cadet drivers aged 15 or under in CIK / FIA international events.  From 1st January 2011 this standard will be mandatory for all drivers aged 12 or under in MSA karting events.

We listen to our customers carefully and pass on feedback and comments to our suppliers.  Our suppliers have listened and come up trumps with the following new products for 2010.

SUPPLIER – COBRA SEATS - FIA HISTORIC SEAT

A classically styled narrow FIA 8855-1999 approved competition seat which is available in extensive heavy duty vinyl and leather options.

Particular attention has been paid to ensure a compact fit in the narrow cockpits of many classic competition cars.

This is one of many seats we have on display at our showroom at the Castle Combe Circuit where you can try before you purchase or order a Signature version.

SUPPLIER – MONIT RALLY COMPUTERS Q-SERIES

Launched at the Autosport Racing Car show in January 2010.  Monit have reacted to the growing demand from the classic and grass roots rally market by providing a basic rally computer which incorporates many of the features found in its professional T-Series, which is used by many WRC rally teams.

The Q-10 is an affordable entry level rally computer featuring a unique sunlight readable display which also has a LED backlight for night use. It also has two accurate five digit distance counters that can be cleared individually, adjusted, and calibrated for miles or kilometres.
It is ideal for classic events where a rally computer with speed measurement is not allowed.

The Q-20 is designed to be a good balance of price and features. It incorporates all the features of the Q-10 plus current and average speed measurements.  These features make the Q-20 ideal for rallies with regularity sections.

Samco have also added a specialised lining for fuel. The ProFuel lining is the worlds first performance silicone hose for permanent fuel use. Suitable for fuel filler tubing between the tank and the fillers cap and as a balance tube between twin tanks. The lining can be included in any of the race parts by special order with a delivery of about 4 weeks.  Please note that this product will be available to order from Merlin from early March.

GOODRIDGE – QUICK DISCONNECT COUPLINGS

Goodridge have developed their own range of quick disconnect couplings. The G Link range is for hydraulics in Motorsport applications. There are two types Bayonet and Pull. Both provide:-

1. A means of quickly disconnecting a line without the loss of hydraulic fluid or air entering the system.
2. The valve head opens when the coupling is connected to allow fluid flow in either direction. When disconnected a spring in each valve closes, creating a seal.
3. compact and lightweight.
4. Made from aluminium with stainless steel sealing face.

The Bayonet type is used for brake and clutch lines with operating pressures up to 200 bar (3000psi).

The Pull type is used for fuel, oil or water with an operating pressure of up to 150 bar (2250psi). This union is FIA approved for fuel sampling.

Please note that Goodridge quick disconnect couplings will be available to purchase from Merlin from the end of February.

JETEX 2.25" EXHAUST  – NEW IN STOCK – ONLY AVAILABLE FROM MERLIN

We have arranged for Jetex to manufacture the range of bends, straights and boxes in 2 ¼ inch mild steel . There has long been a demand for this size and it is now in stock. The only way for us to add the 2 ¼ inch to our range was to place a bulk order made solely for Merlin, at present it is not available in stainless steel only aluminised mild steel.
